Study Development: Intro to Progressione

Updated: May 23, 2022

Introduction

I’ve always wanted to write something, whether it be articles, novels, poems, or other creative forms of writing. My study productivity website, Progressione, would be the perfect opportunity to write about my experience in maximizing the effectiveness of productive study habits along with introducing other subsets of information that will be super helpful for students!

Purpose

I want this site to be highly informative and help students improve their study habits. I noticed that some websites promote study tips that I find unrealistic because of how time-consuming they can be or ineffective because of how inflexible they are. I will delve deeper into these thoughts as I write more posts.

I will be discussing study tips that I found helpful through experimentation and talking with others that I did not discover on the internet and I wanted to include other sections of this website. Each article that I write about study tips will be a thoughtful, ultimate guide that will be edited continuously as I find new ideas and elaborate more on my thoughts and supporting evidence.

Many of these study tips will be supported through psychology and neuroscience research. I also want to discuss life lessons in my academic career that nobody told me until I learned the hard way as part of discussing these guides to studying. In other words, I want to do away with the sugarcoating and get straight to the good stuff.

I also want to discuss wellness activities that will help with studying such as exercising, healthy eating habits, and mental health activities. You cannot start studying effectively unless you have physical and mental wellness as well.

I want to continue writing often as a passion and this website would be a great way for me to exercise my writing capabilities. With this website, I also want to give resources and advice for classes that I have taken during my academic career at university as a pre-biomedical engineering student to assist other engineering students with their studying. For each class that I have previously taken during my academic career, I want to provide a detailed description of the class, resources that are helpful and specific for that class, and some advice that you need if enrolling in these classes.

Since I'm attending the University of British Columbia, the class advice will be specific to my program and the university that I attend. Even though these classes can vary a little depending on the university you attend, most of them are equivalent and I will also include an alternate title for each class name specific to my university experience for a more universal approach.

ORGANIZATION OF MY WEBSITE

This website will be organized into the following categories:

1. Study & Productivity Guidance

  • This is the central section of my blog. This section will cover scientific-backed study tips and each article will be an organized guide for how to study in specific circumstances. There will also be resource guides included for apps/websites that you should use a student that you might not be using now.

2. Study Resource Guide

  • There will also be resource guides included for apps/websites that you should use as a student that you might not be using now.

3. Before You Study: Nutrition, Exercise, Mental Health (Wellness Centre)

  • This section of the website will delve into detail about specific habits that enhance your nutrition, physical, and mental well-being and how those habits will enhance your study sessions.

4. UBC Engineering Class Advice

  • The class advice will be specific to courses that I have taken as a student in the pre-biomedical engineering stream.

  • Each description of the course will be filled with advice, the level of difficulty to expect, the type of content that will be taught, the type of assignments to expect for this class, and study tips/learning recommendations specific to each class that I wish my former self knew before being enrolled into the class.

  • In the future, I might also make a section for courses that are possible GPA boosters, stay tuned for that as well.

5. About Me

  • A few details about my personal life, such as what I’m studying, my interests and hobbies, and my professional aspirations.

Conclusion

I hope that my content will be very beneficial for academics, personal development, resilience, or wherever you need more help with being productive.

I’m excited to launch this website. My posting schedule will be one article a week, and in addition, continue adding resources daily to help students with their academics.
